• Plaka: The most charming neighborhood in the city, with its cobblestone streets and Greek village atmosphere. However, accommodations are more expensive in this area.

Tips for Booking Accommodation in Athens

Before deciding where to stay in Athens, it’s worth keeping a few practical tips in mind.

1. Book in the Plaka, Psiri, or Monastiraki neighborhoods.
   These are the best neighborhoods for exploring Athens on foot. You’ll be just minutes from restaurants, cafes, and the main historical sites, saving you time and transportation costs.
   
2. Check for an Elevator
   Many older buildings in the city center don’t have elevators or only have very small ones. If you’re traveling with large suitcases, a stroller, or if mobility is a concern, check this point before booking.
   
3. Request a quiet room.
   Central neighborhoods like Psiri and Monastiraki are very lively, especially in the evening. If you’re a light sleeper, request a room facing away from the street.
   
4. Check if towels are included.
